Philosophy Club at Decatur Library

Last Wednesday (October 7th, 2026) was the first meeting of the philosophy club I’m leading for students at my local public library. Though I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect for our first session together or how many students (if any) would show up, we had a good number and a great time! Though most of the students didn’t have much familiarity with philosophy, they were very excited to learn more about it and had lots of questions for us to discuss in the future (see picture of our whiteboard by the end of the session below).

By popular demand of our club members, our next session in November will be about whether it’s ever morally okay to lie. If you or a 10-to-15-year-old you know would be interested in learning more, you can do that here, as well as register for our next meeting.
