I’m excited to kick off 2023 right and announce that my (very) short story “LEM” is out in the January/February 2023 edition of Analog magazine! Analog is one of my favorite venues for short story publication, and I’m thrilled they liked this one enough to include it in their latest issue.

I wrote “LEM” early on in the pandemic (around May 2020, I think); the world was feeling pretty bleak, so I wanted to write something optimistic, and I had a lot of pent-up creative energy without much time to give it an outlet. So I wrote the whole story in an hour or so on a Saturday afternoon, and, except for a few small changes, the version I wrote and the version appearing in Analog are almost identical. Every part of the creative process, from writing to revision to publication, was the smoothest they’ve been for me to date. Though “LEM” is my shortest published work, it’s one of my favorites, and I hope others enjoy it as well!
