New Story in After Dinner Conversation

I’m excited to announce that another of my short stories has been published, this time in the December 2020 issue of the magazine After Dinner Conversation. My story, “And Joy shall overtake us as a flood”, is my longest fiction publication to date. It was written back in 2015, shortly before my daughter was born, and I have a fond memory of sitting in a coffee shop and pounding it out in an afternoon (a memory made all the fonder right now by the fact that it’s been probably close to a year since I was even in a coffee shop). It’s my favorite piece of fiction I’ve written and was inspired by a desire, after teaching David Lewis on time travel to intro philosophy students for years, to make a self-consistent time travel story that felt as satisfying as the inconsistent time travel stories that seem to be everywhere these days (Back to the Future, Looper, and Avengers: Endgame, I’m looking at you!). Those interested in reading it can get their first month of an After Dinner Conversation subscription free by using the code “DINNER” at checkout. Enjoy!
