A few weeks ago, I attended a symposium on open educational resources (OER) at the Woodruff AUC Library (many thanks to friend and librarian Brad Ost for the invitation!). I’m a big supporter of OER (see my work with 1,000-Word Philosophy), so when Brad approached me about adding something that might be generally useful to the Woodruff Library’s collection, I jumped at the opportunity.
I’m excited to announce that I’ve turned a logic handout I use in most of my classes into the OER “Philosophical Argumentation: The Basics,” which can be found here. It contains a glossary of some common logic vocabulary (with examples) and strategies for supporting claims with arguments that back them up well. It should be, I hope, accessible to a general audience, so please check it out and feel free to use as you see fit – it’s OER!
