Early last month (December 2023), Eric and I were honored to receive the City of Decatur’s 2023 Hometown Hero award for our work with Mind Bubble. Here is the city’s official announcement, and here is Decaturish’s write-up of the award ceremony. I have to admit, I never imagined I’d be honored at the same event as legendary folk duo Indigo Girls, but I guess that just speaks to how cool a city I live in. Thanks to our friends at the DeKalb County Public Library for nominating us for this honor – it’s extremely validating to have our hard work on behalf of our students and their families recognized, and I’m excited to contribute to the library’s Mind Bubble work in 2024 and beyond!
